Belly dancing has been a passionate part of Geisha Moth’s life for nearly a decade, and for many more years than that, so have the visual arts. Geisha Moth Designs is the union of these two worlds in which Geisha Moth walks – in which she dances. The initial idea for Geisha Moth Designs began with a pen scribble on a paper napkin, as so many innovative ideas do. Shortly thereafter, the pen and paper were exchanged for needle, thread and cloth, and out of this the first Geisha Moth Design was born.

To Geisha Moth every dancer is unique and every belly dancer deserves costumes that highlight, celebrate, and reflect their own individual expression. To this end, Geisha Moth Designs are available in seasonal designs that are available in sizes for all goddesses, from size XS to XXXXL, with a vast range of inseams from 24” to 37” available.

Massive production is absolutely out of the question for Geisha Moth. Every creation is limited edition or One-of-a-Kind. “The day i don’t touch every piece - is the day i have become out of touch. Every piece is an artistic creation. Every piece is personal... Always.”

Geisha Moth places great importance on knowing who is wearing which of her designs, where her customers are from, and what style of dance they do.
“One time a dancer was amazed that I remembered what she got from me 3 years ago at Rakkasah,” said Geisha Moth, “and from memory I try my best to remember what size they are and what they purchased. I like to know my collectors since they are first and foremost my dance sisters.”

To keep up the pace of personalized customer service and to continue to create innovative designs, Geisha Moth’s routine includes working 100 hours per week, often by the light of the moon.
“I never create to stay within the trends. i strive to be ahead of what is trendy and design & dance to my own beat of the drum. Daring to be Different is what i am drawn to naturally.  Reaching beyond what is already ‘hot’ to discover and develop a style that is my own.
I have a cornucopia of ideas and work a lot to make many of them a reality. And never tire of it. It is my passion to design, so my energy for work just empowers me everyday.”
